Democratic Party president Hon. Nobert Mao has said he will soon be addressing NRM caucus on the national issue of presidential age limit in order to make them understand more on the dangers of amending article 102(b) of the constitution.

While addressing the media on tuesday at party headquarters in kampala, Mao said that he has written to NRM caucus chairperson who is also government cheif whip Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa to allow him address NRM MPs on this issue.

“I have been talking to NRM MPs one by one on this issue and even Nankabirwa knows this but i have decided to write to her to allow me address them when they are together, if she wants she can also write to opposition and address them since we all need democracy in our country.” Mao said.

He added that “All NRM MPs are younger than president Museveni and they will live after museveni with their children, so they need a special lecture to expose  the dangers associated with amending this article to impose life president in our coutry.”

Mao also blsted NRM MPs who decided not consult all ugandans but consult paid and coached members of NRM as if constitution is for NRM party and urged ugandans to always invite themselves in these meetings to advise their MPs who have gone astray.

Mao also said that as DP they will do everything to make sure this article is not amended and that this week they are starting a campaign of traversing  the whole country teaching the public on this matter and will give them equipements to use in fighting this bill like banners, stickers, shirts, t-shirts, side mirrors for  boda bodas and many others.

“Since the person responsible for Magyezi’s pregnancy has shown up, we will make sure that Magyezi doesn’t deliver his baby from parliament.” Mao added.
