While at the launch of the Electoral Commission Strategic Plan 2023/2023- 2026/2027 and the electoral road map 2025/2027, the Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, doubling as President for Democratic Party, Norbert Mao called upon all members of the opposition to unite and focus on citizens because they are the nursery beds for leaders.

“This is our country and we should take charge in planting proper seeds in the minds of our citizens. Let’s not allow people that have their own agenda to plant seeds in the minds of our citizens just because they have money,” Mao said.

“This is not about money but about what Uganda will look like in the next 100 years depending on the seeds that you plant today,” he added.

He noted that there is no winner when the country falls apart because we all lose.

Mao emphasized the need to reconcile and handle issues from different parties so that the upcoming elections can be meaningful.

The meeting was organized by the Electoral Commission and was attended by dignitaries from different countries, key government officials, members of different political parties, religious leaders, Civil Society Organizations, the media fraternity, and the general public.
